Mona Lisa Smile

I present to you the very sensible opinion of Judge Bruce U. Morrow, who apparently knows how to keep things short and sweet:

Mary, the City of Grosse Pointe Park charged my husband (not me, the wife he obviously can't control) with "erecting signs without a permit" because I placed some of my paintings in my yard. The case has been four years in Municipal Court, where my husband was found guilty by Judge Carl Jarboe. We appealed to Wayne County Circuit Court, had a hearing in January, and this is the result. Judge Morrow found that the sign ordinance was unconstitutionally vague, reversed Judge Jarboe's "guilty" ruling, and remanded the case back to the lower court for dismissal.

The City has 21 days from the time of the ruling to appeal, or to accept to rewrite their sign ordinance to meet Constitutional standards.
